It was good to hear your voice after a cpl of years :)
As usual i was trying to find out something out of ur talks and this one actually helped me clear some cobwebs off my thought/mind/eyes.
wat u said is right...since 2000 to 2008 the same word is being repeated - "New Media" and we as media folks have failed to make the most out of it...either in understanding the new concepts coming into the picture or representing it to our clients in different ways. Facebook is a point in case - there are so many applications/widgets that can be produced/circulated for our clients but have hardly seen any active on the local front (i myself am to blame that till date havent been successful in convincing clients about the same). The same with Second Life - i actually sampled it day before and realised there cud be endless opportunities for brands to be seen in in various possible ways.
I think it is for not only a single person (enthusiast) or an industry association to help take this forward but each and every individual take this into his stride else wud be deemed redundant and replaced by a whole new lot of "New Media" Thinkers. This cud be synonymous to the entry of Digital Television sets replacing the Analog ones in entirity by 2015.
